  • Zinn chapter 2 study guide due at the start of class.  Discuss/turn in.
  • In-class work day: Zinn chapter 3 ("Hard Times").
  • Homework:  Finish reading chapter three of A Young People's History of the United States.  Along with the reading, you need to complete the study guide introduced in class.  All of your responses to this study guide need to be typed, and your work is due at the start of the next class period.  You can access the study guide here: Zinn Chapter 3.doc

  • In-class video activity and/or chapter 2 work time.
  • The following link will take you to a website with streaming videos that focus on various events in American history: American History Videos  There is a lot to this site; see if you can find anything that contradicts what you're reading in the Zinn book!
Friday, 5/20 (A)

  • If your group is done, you need to visit the following website: American Cultural History  You will be working on a scavenger hunt, and you are expected to follow the directions on the handout that you will receive in class.  The scavenger hunt document can be found here: Scav Hunt.doc

Thursday, 5/12 (A) 
  • Share/present PSAs.
  • You will have time in lab to work on scavenger hunt; it is due at the start of class on Monday.

Friday, 5/13 (B)
  • Scavenger hunt due at the start of class.

5/2-5/6

Monday, 5/2 (A) through Friday, 5/6 (A)
  • This entire week will be a PSA work week.  Ideally, your script will be typed by the end of the first full day of class this week.
  • You need to rehearse; you're expected to know your lines before filming!!  Let me know when you think you're ready to film.  Your PSA needs to be no longer than 2 minutes total in length, and you really should have no need to edit the final take if you know your lines well enough.
  • When you're ready to film, I'll find you a quiet area in which to work.

Looking Ahead...
  • Your typed script for the Rock the Vote assignment is due on or before Monday, Tuesday, 5/3 (B) & Wednesday, 5/4 A).
  • Your filmed/edited commercial is due on or before Wednesday, 5/11 (B) & Thursday, 5/12 (A)
  • Friday, May 13: 7th grade all day canoe trip!!  Please make sure to bring plenty of warm, sunny weather!!
