Where will we go?
We're going to go to five cities in China:
- Beijing: Capital of modern China, and a huge metropolis full of culture. We'll see the Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square, the Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall of China.
- Xi'an: Once the center of the Qin dynasty, and capital of China for longer than Beijing has been. There, we'll visit the Great Mosque and the terra-cotta warriors of the First Emperor of Qin, then see a Tang dynasty cultural show.
- Luoyang: Another ancient capital of China, and a center of Buddhist culture. We'll see the Longmen caves there, then go to White Horse Temple.
- Zhengzhou: Also an ancient capital of China, and now the nexus of many important temples and historical sites. We'll do gongfu at the famous Shaolin Temple here.
- Shanghai: The largest city in China, a modern commercial powerhouse and once-colony of European powers. We'll see the Bund, the Yuyuan Gardens, the Eastern Pearl Tower, the Pudong district and a lot more, then see Chinese acrobatics show, and even practice taijiquan or calligraphy.
