Snacks and Water Bottles

Snacks

Due to the later lunch schedule for lower school students, I would like to provide the opportunity for students to have a nutritious snack in the morning, if they wish.

Some ideas for small, nutritious snacks

·      a piece of fresh fruit or fresh vegetables

·      an applesauce cup (please send a disposable plastic spoon)

·      a muffin, a plain bagel, banana bread, half of a sandwich

·      plain crackers (no spreading of cheese, peanut butter, etc...)

·      raisins or pretzels

·      a water bottle

Snacks not allowed in the classroom

  • No popcorn
  • No yogurt or Gogurt
  • No fruit cups (except for applesauce cups)
  • No Fruit Roll-Ups, Fruit by the Foot, cookies, cakes, chips or candy
  • No beverages (other than a water bottle)
  •

Water Bottles

Second grade students in room 112 are welcome to bring water bottles to the classroom.  However, due to spillage I ask that all water bottles be sport top or flip top water bottles.  Please do not send water bottles with screw-off lids.  Thank you!

You can also make our snack time proceed more efficiently if you remember to pack a napkin with your child's snack.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
