  • ROUGH BODY DRAFT DUE BY THE END OF CLASS! Make sure your work is double spaced and that you have included your thesis statement at the top if you're not done with your introduction.
Thursday, 6/2 (A) & Friday, 6/3(B)
  • In-class work time. 
  • HOMEWORK:  Finish your final draft; it is due at the start of the next class period!  Make sure to pay attention to the following details:
  1. Include parenthetical citations when needed; this is mandatory.
  2. Double space your paper.
  3. Use 12 point font.
  4. Include your works cited page(s).
  5. Includes your rough draft; I will NOT accept your final paper without the copy of your rough draft accompanying it!!
Monday, 6/6 (A) & Tuesday, 6/7 (B)
  • Share/turn in final drafts.  Please make sure you review the expectations established above-especially the part about turning in your rough draft with your final draft!!
Wednesday, 6/8 (A) & Thursday, 6/9 (B)
  • End-of-year/middle school class party.  Someone needs to plan this, or you will have an in-class reading and writing assignment that will bum you out!
Friday, 6/10 (A)
  • Yearbook signing day!  Make sure your library books are either turned in or paid for (HINT, JULIA, EVAN AND ANDY!!)
  • Good bye.

  • Mini Lesson: Writing the body of your paper (CRLS Tip Sheet Link 15: Writing the Body of Your Paper).  You may also want to use the following planning sheet to help you put together your paper: Essay Planner.doc
  • Lab/work time.  By now, you should be working on writing the body of your paper!!  Don't forget to include parenthetical citations as need be!
  • B class-your final outline and note cards are due today.
  • Homework:  A class-your final outline and note cards are due at the start  of the next class.
Thursday, 5/26 (A) & Friday, 5/27 (B)
  • Final outline/note cards due.
  • Mini lesson: Writing intro and concluding paragraphs ( CRLS Tip Sheet Links 17: Writing an Intro & 18: Writing a Conclusion)
  • In-class work time.
  • Homework:  Body rough drafts are due at the end of the next class period.

Remember, conducting research is a recursive process!  This means you may need to return back to earlier steps in the process over and over again as you move forward!

Monday, 5/16 (A) & Tuesday, 5/17 (B)
  • Due: Statement of purpose and thesis statement posted to my blog.  Make sure your thesis is not just a statement of fact; remember, it also needs to have you opinion.
  • Due:  Note card check-in day.  Your note cards do not have to be finished, but you should be making some serious progress on your notes by now; are you remembering to work on these at home?
  • Mini Lesson: Making an outline (CRLS Tip Sheet Link 14: Making an Outline) You are expected to share your preliminary outline with me on Thursday or Friday this week; make sure to bring a hard copy please.  Please use the following template when working on your outline: Outline Template.doc
  • Lab/work time; be ready with your note cards when called!

Wednesday, 5/18 (A)
  • Track and Field Day; no classes blocks one and two.

Thursday, 5/19 (B) & Friday, 5/20 (A)
  • Due: You need to print and bring your outline to class today.  It does not need to be finished, but you should have a pretty good start on it.
  • Lab/work time.  Individual conference as needed.

Religious Research Assignment Due Dates
  • On/before Monday, 5/16 (A) or Tuesday, 5/17 (B): Post your most current statement of purpose and thesis statment to my blog (see my example). Preliminary note cards check-in
  • On/before Thursday, 5/19 (B) or Friday, 5/20 (A): Preliminary outline check
  • On/before Wednesday, 5/25 (B) or Thursday, 5/26 (A): Final note cards & final outline
  • On/before Tuesday, 5/31 (A) or Wednesday, 6/1 (B): Body rough draft (This is mandatory!)
