Students took descriptions of 3 panels and translated them into a comic strip. They had to maintain the "look and feel" of each panel but were free to interpret the exact clip art, font, etc. used.

Students took an excerpt from an Isaac Asimov short story and created a 3-page comic that included the excerpt and a description of the graphic panels. As before, students were free to design the panels as they wanted but had to maintain the story-line.
