lunes, el 30 de enero
We will start off with a quiz over -AR verbs. Please refer back to last week for practice sites.  We will then review telling time, TENER, other -AR verbs, and the vocabulary that students have already had a quiz on.  We will then play with our new cut out representations of ourselves reviewing all concepts from Unidad 2, lección 1.

tarea: wb pages 65-67

We will start off with new vocabulary from page 145 in the textbook.  This starts Unidad 2 lección 2.  We will spend the class playing games to be introduced to the new vocabulary from page 145 in the textbook.

tarea: students need to make flashcards of the new vocabulary either by hand, or with an online program.

viernes, el 3 de enero
We will start off by watching the video that accompanies Unidad 2 lección 2, which focuses on Mexico.  We will then move on to reviewing our vocabulary and an introduction to the verb ESTAR.

First off, we will start by reviewing pages 57-59 in the workbook.
Then we will review our vocabulary from page 117 in the textbook.
We will continue by reviewing TENER, telling time, and present tense -AR verbs.  Here is a website to help practice -AR verbs: 

TAREA Homework is that there will be a quiz on the vocabulary from page 117 in the textbook next class.

We will start class off with a quiz over the vocabulary from page 117 in the textbook.
We will continue with our review of telling time, TENER, and -AR verbs.  We will play many games involving -AR verbs.

TAREA  For Tuesday, students will have a quiz on -AR verbs.  They need to be able to put an -AR verb into all its forms and be able to fill in the blanks given a sentence with the verb missing.  Here are some practice pages: 1, 2, 3

La tarea (homework) for today was to practice vocab page 117 in the textbook.  We have now started Unit 2 lesson 1.  This unit covers telling time, the verb tener (to have), present tense -ar verbs like hablar, estudiar, caminar, etc., and vocabulary having to do with school.

Today we will play Simón dice (Simon says) with the new vocabulary from page 117, as well as Pictionary to help us get acquainted with this new vocabulary.  As well, we will review pronouns: I, you, he, she, it, we, they, you guys (in Spanish of course) so we can start working with the verb TENER (to have).

We will start off by reviewing the workbook activities.  Then we will review the vocabulary from page 117 in the textbook.  Next we will review TENER, talking about what classes everyone has.  And lastly we will learn to tell time. Here is a good website for practice with telling time in Spanish.

Today we will start off by playing the vocabulary game where students need to identify the vocabulary word being defined, in Spanish, from their vocabulary.  Next, we will go over the verb TENER talking about what classes we have and at what time we have them (reviewing telling time).

¡Prospero año nuevo!

First off, we will review the vocabulary from pages 83 and 55 of our textbook to reacquaint ourselves with the Spanish we may not have been speaking over break.  Then we will review the concepts of "the" and "a/an" as well as the verb SER and GUSTAR. We will move on to review adjectives (describing words) and how in Spanish they match the noun (person, place or thing) they are describing in number and gender.  This can be found on page 72 of the textbook.

As we are entering a new unit, Unit 2, we will watch the video that accompanies the unit that is set in Mexico, as well as a travel video that covers Mexico City.  We will also go over the new vocabulary on page 117 of the textbook.
