We had four guest speakers at our November 20th meeting from an organization called "Shen Men ~ A Healing Arts Collaborative."
It was an informational meeting where practitioners shared their expertise about a range of therapies to help you and your family formulate a healthy program designed to work naturally with the mind, body and spirit.
Conradine Sanborn, LAc, MA Ed
Conradine is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Certified Colorpuncturist and holds her masters degree in Deaf Education from NYU. She is particularly interested in merging her interest in education, complementary therapies, and collaboration to help children who are experiencing difficulties. She has studied with Dietrich Klinghardt (Klinghardt Matrix Therapy), Robert Cass (Bioenergetic Assessment and Homotoxicology), Kim John Payne (Waldorf Collaborative Counseling) and Akhila Bourne (Peter Mandel's Colorpuncture).
Kim Pilgrim, MS
Kim shared information about Craniosacral Therapy, which is a light-touch approach that can create dramatic improvements in your life.
Michelle Motto, MS, RD
Michelle Motto has been practicing Classical Homeopathy since 2005. She has also studied foods and nutrition, holds a MS in Food Science and is registered with the American Dietetic Association as a dietitian. Her areas of interest include the homeopathic health care of children and families.
Burna Krugler, LICSW
Burna is a clinical therapist with 20 years of experience. She has practiced psychodrama, as developed by Jacob L. Moreno, MD, and is currently adding Systemic Family Constellations as developed by Bert Hellinger to her focus. Her emphasis on experiential therapies comes from a belief that experiencing a new feeling, action, or thought is the most effective way to influence perspective, facilitating change (if you can name it, you can change it). She shared information about some parenting classes that are offered at Shen Men and will also soon be offered through Community Education in St. Paul. A description of the classes can be found here.
Our thanks go out to these practitioners for coming to our meeting and sharing their work with us. Thanks also go to Deb for providing us with some treats.
