Companies that publish violent and abusive games, market them to teens and tweens, and then take no responsibility for the results, may begin to find themselves in an advertising ethernet. Several groups have been mobilized as an answer to increasing virtual violence. And if the result of the latest Harris Poll is correct, 13 hours per week is the average amount of time that an 8-12 year old plays video games. If companies do not change their policies regarding violence and pornography, eventually they will lose that market as more adults are disgusted and frustrated with the products they produce. Beck and Wade report in "Got Game" a Harvard Business School Press book from 2002 "that 34 years is the cutoff for people who have grown up playing video games." What it means is that anyone who graduated from high school earlier than 1991 has a natural inclination to be wary when insisting that gaming is one good way to learn.
