The aim of the MPA Tutor Guild is to provide convenient
and effective tutoring for students in Lower, Middle, and Upper School in
various subjects. The MPA Tutor's
Guild consists of Upper School students and each tutor is required to have at
least a "B" grade in the subject that he/she is tutoring. The
services offered by the MPA Tutor's Guild are listed below.
One-on-One Student Tutoring
These tutoring sessions will give your child an opportunity to be tutored in a comfortable setting. If you are interested in this, please fill out the attached form and return it to the Upper School Office, or e-mail the information to tutor@moundsparkacademy.org. The tutoring sessions are arranged to fit your schedule as well as the tutor's schedule. The length and frequency of these sessions can be arranged with the tutor as well. These sessions provide a great alternative to Panther Club!
Paper Conferences
The ability to write in a clear and concise manner is crucial in High School. Our tutors are here to help in any aspect of writing that your student would like assistance with, such as brainstorming, outlining, or forming a clearly worded thesis. Students can also come to our tutors with a draft of his/her paper for feedback. Students may contact the MPA Tutor's Guild to arrange a session.
Study Groups for Finals
Studying for finals can be an incredibly daunting (and stressful!) task. A member of the MPA Tutor's Guild will work with a study group, helping identify what to focus on and making sure students stay on task. The group will work together to decide the length and frequency of these meetings. In this group setting, students can study together for the same subject and help each other while maintaining focus.
