Our itinerary

Greetings parents, students, and others:
First off, welcome to the Yucatán blog! Here you will find useful information about our trip with 7th/8th graders and parents to the Yucatán Pennisula in southeastern Mexico.

This first post is of our itinerary and flight information for our trip in October.

Tue. 16th.- Arrival transfer to hotel.
Mérida

Wed. 17th.- Day trip to the wild life reserve of Ria Lagartos (nesting
area for the pink flamingoes) boat trip through the mangroves
where alligators and other birds can be observed, we’ll be close
to the second largest salt flats in Latin America named las Coloradas
Return to Mérida Dinner at la Casa de Frida

Thu. 18th.- Day trip to Mani, Kabah and Uxmal, guided visit to all these 3 sites
Return to Merida,

Fri. 19th.- Day trip to Ek-balam (the most recently open archaeological site in the
State, considered a unique Maya architecture style, biking to a cenote
X-canche to practice rappelling and snorkeling on the waters of a typical cenote. Return to Mérida and a visit to Izamal on the way.
Sat. 20th.- Visit to a living Hacienda where henequen is processed as in the past,
Lunch in Hacienda Teya. Return to Merida

Sun. 21th.- City tour and visit to the open activity known as Mérida on Sunday
Where handicrafts, food, music from the Yucatan are displayed around
the main square during the day. Rest of the day at leisure.

Mon. 22nd.- Departure transfer to the airport.

FLIGHT INFORMATION:
We are flying Continental the whole way from Minneapolis, changing planes in Houston, then on to Mérida.
